2. Jessica Ennis-Hill – Great Britain
Jessica Ennis-Hill is considered as one of the best overall athletes and an icon in British sports history. She’s geared up to compete for Heptathlon, a seven-part sports event. Though she recently suffered an Achilles tendon injury, she’s still aiming to bring home the gold medal for the second time in a row.
3. Michelle Jenneke – Australia
The 23-year-old Australian hurdler is out in her first event for the Olympics. This long-legged beauty won a silver medal for the 100 m hurdles at 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. Who knows, Michelle Jenneke might bag the gold medal from Rio this year!

Up for a soccer game? Ali Krieger and her team, Washington Spirit deserve to be watched! The 32-year-old soccer player is a veteran of the national team and a key player in the 2015 FIFA World Cup Championship. Before going back to her home country, Krieger played in Germany under the FFC Frankfurt for five years where she gained much of her experience in soccer.

Model turned boxer, Mikaela Mayer is off for the Olympic ring! Hailing from Los Angeles, California, she will be representing the United States together with Team USA. She will be competing for 60kg women’s category for boxing. I suppose there’ll be a lot of beautiful punches coming!
7. Aliya Mustafina – Russia
At a young age of 21, Aliya Mustafina is already regarded as a veteran in her field — gymnastics. She started hitting the national platform back in 2007, earning gold and silver medals. Polish-born American, Dagmara, is one of the top 10 best fencers in the world! She also ranked 8th at the 2012 London games.

Two-time Pan American Championship medalist, Mackenzie Brown, is a dedicated archer. She won 1 bronze medal and 2 silvers since 2012 including 2015 World Archery Youth Championship.
14. Ginny Thrasher – USA
Ginny Thrasher won the first gold medal (10m air rifle) this year for Team USA! She is also an NCAA champion at West Virginia. And oh, did you know she’s just 19? #goals
15. Nataliya Goncharova – Russia
Russia women volleyball team’s Natalya Goncharova is one of the top female volleyball players in the world. Goncharova, the best scorer of World Grand Prix 2016 and 2010 World Champion, is also expected to rock the court of the Olympics with her spiking power!
