Kanye West has never been one to shy away from controversy, so here he is discussing the discrimination he faced as a designer in the fashion industry.
Music and fashion collide in the world of Kanye West. The rapper/record producer/fashion designer recently spoke of the discrimination that he suffered in the fashion industry. No, it wasn’t because he is an African American, it was because he wasn’t gay.

Kanye is sharing some thoughts about breaking into the fashion industry. “I feel like I got discriminated in fashion for not being gay,” he said during an interview with SHOWstudio on Tuesday. “In music, you definitely get discriminated in music if you are gay. It takes amazing talents to break down barriers.
West entered the fashion industry way back in 2006. He has since launched his own RTW collections which he presented in Paris Fashion Week. He has collaborated with Nike and Adidas. So yes, West had his foot in the door where it stayed. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of West, particularly his MTV VMA antics. Nonetheless, we need to give credit where credit is due. The man has worked hard for his success both in the music and fashion industry. It is unfair to be discriminated. Discrimination will never be right whatever the situation is. Hopefully, people will listen to what West has to say because frankly, any form of discrimination should just stop.
